Partners in Education The Partners in Education program strengthens the community by uniting the forces of education and business. Education partners realize that their collaboration with our schools is an investment in Lafayette's future. Working together, businesses and schools build a strong community and a capable work force. When considering partnering with a school, match the resources of your business to the needs of a school. Keep in mind it doesn't take a big company to form a successful partnership. It takes people willing to give their time and share their knowledge. School Banks Students at several schools are learning the value of saving by having a bank account in their name at school. Financial institutions have partnered with schools to operate banks at school. Guided by real bank employees and a teacher, students serve as managers, tellers, security guards, etc., at the school banks. Each month the student bank officers accept deposits from other students, recording and tallying the financial transactions. While the officers learn responsibility and the importance of accuracy, all depositors watch their balances grow throughout the school year.
